Minerals for Welding Rod Flux Industry
Limestone, dolomite, and calcite powders processed for slag formation, arc stabilization, and gas shielding in welding electrode coatings.
In welding electrode manufacturing, the flux coating around the core wire determines arc stability, slag behavior, and mechanical weld properties. Carbonate minerals melt during welding to generate a protective gas shield and form a slag barrier that protects the weld bead from atmospheric oxidation. Labdhi Ventures supplies ground limestone, dolomite, and calcite from Pindwara, Rajasthan for electrode manufacturers.
Minerals Supplied for Electrode Flux
- Limestone Powder: Provides calcium carbonate (CaCO3) that decomposes during welding to release carbon dioxide gas, shielding the weld pool from air.
- Dolomite Powder: Introduces magnesium oxide and calcium oxide into the molten flux, helping regulate slag viscosity and clean slag detachability.
- Calcite Powder: Calcium source for basic electrode coatings to support low-hydrogen weld characteristics.
Grading & Delivery
Welding-grade minerals are screened to standard sizes (commonly 200 to 300 mesh) with low moisture retention. Consignments are packed in sealed 50 kg HDPE bags and delivered across Rajasthan and Gujarat (including Rajkot and Ahmedabad).
