Product Overview
In rotary oil and gas drilling, lost circulation occurs when drilling fluid leaks uncontrollably into permeable formations, natural fractures, or induced fissures. This causes mud pressure loss, wellbore instability, and operational downtime.
Kwik Seal combines three functional particle morphologies:
- Granular particles: Wedge into fracture throats to form a rigid structural bridge.
- Flake particles (Mica): Overlay the granular bridge to flatten and seal fluid passage.
- Fibrous elements: Interlock with both flakes and granules to create a tough, low-permeability composite filter cake.
